This place has been a great addition to the Forest Hill area since it opened at the end of 2015. It’s pretty cosy and they don’t take bookings, but if you leave your name and number down for a table, it never seems to take too long for one to become available. Otherwise, you can also order takeaway which only takes a few minutes.
The menu is small and simple but after several visits, everything I’ve had has been delicious. You can choose between the more familiar tomato-based sauce option, or pizza bianco, which is also delicious. Pizza options feature interesting ingredients such as tasty smoked scamorza cheese and sardinian fennel sausage – great flavour, not overpowered by the fennel – as well as traditional options such as margherita and marinara. Pizzas have that sourdough chewiness, the smokiness from the wood-fired oven and the unadulterated taste of good quality toppings.
Aside from pizza, there are just a couple of sides to choose from, and some decent drinks options. I think a nice addition would be maybe a side salad option.
Service is friendly and pretty efficient as it’s such a busy place. Prices are reasonable, ranging between £5 and £9.9 for a pizza. Overall, a great place to head to for a casual meal, or to grab a cheeky takeaway.
